Shingleroof Campmeeting 2021

We have come through a tough time, and we all truly missed being able to have campmeeting last year.  We are hopeful that all of that is behind us and are thankful to God for bringing us vaccines that are helping to get rid of the COVID19.  We continue to pray that it and all variants will soon be completely gone.  The trustees have met throughout the year using safe measures to have meeting online and in person.  We struggled as we watched and waited to be sure that this will be a safe campmeeting.  We hope that everyone will continue safe practices, and look forward to a wonderful time of Campmeeting in 2021.

July 16 through July 22, 2021

We have services at 11:00 a.m. and 7:45 p.m.

Our servants for the week include.....

Rev. Nate KeelerPastor Nate Keeler

Nate Keeler is the Lead Pastor at Brandywine Valley Baptist Church. Pastor Nate met his wife, Shannan, while at Philadelphia Biblical University (now Cairn University). They have two children, Nathan and Aidan. Before being called as the Senior Pastor of BVBC Pastor Nate was an investment advisor in DC for two years and on staff at McLean Bible Church in Northern Virginia for eight years. He received his Masters in Christian Leadership at Dallas Theological Seminary. Nateís greatest ministry passions are helping people experience changed lives by Christ, preaching the Word, equipping the church to serve one another and to be on mission for Christ. Other interests include the Philadelphia Eagles, the outdoors, Ocean City, NJ and spending time with family and friends.  Nate will preaching Friday night through Sunday night.

Rev. Jason Minter

Jason has been serving at Faith Presbyterian Church since May 2016. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology from the Baptist College of Florida and his Master in Divinity degree from Columbia Theological Seminary. He is currently working on his Doctorate degree from Reformed Theological seminary in the area of reformed expository preaching. He has 15 years of ministry experience both in student and pastoral ministry. He has been married to the love of his life for 16 years. They have 5 incredible daughters and an awesome son and each one is such a blessing to them. He enjoys spending lots of time with his family, reading, running and cheering on his Packers. But in the end, he is a broken sinner saved by Godís marvelous grace which sustains him in all of life as he seeks to follow Christ. We are excited to welcome Jason Minter to Shingleroof 2021.  Jason will be preaching on Monday morning.

Rev. Dr. John Ed Mathison

We are so excited to have  Dr. John Ed Mathison preaching again at Campmeeting.  John Ed has become a regular for us at Shingleroof, and we are always thrilled when we can have him lead us in our services.  John Ed Mathison retired in June 2008 after 36 years of serving as the senior minister of Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church.  John Ed is currently leading a non-profit ministry designated as the John Ed Mathison Leadership Ministries and is speaking at churches, conferences, and leadership training programs on a local, national and global scale. We are fortunate to have John Ed back with us again for 2021.  Welcome back John Ed.  John Ed will be preaching Monday evening through Thursday evening.

               Rev. Doug Stroup

We are blessed to have Doug Stroup back to be our Worship Leader for the week.  Doug has been with us many times in the past as Song Leader and also providing special music as a soloist, as well as with his wife and children as The Stroup Family, and with the Peach State Quartet.  Doug was saved at the age of 10 and started singing for the Lord that same year.  He met his wife, Amy, at church and they married in 1988 and they both graduated from Florida Bible College in 1989.  They have been blessed with seven children, Doug, Andy, Anna, Dora, Amelia Grace, Amanda Joy and Della Rose.  Doug is the Assistant Pastor at Crossroad Bible Church in Fort Valley, GA where he serves as the worship leader, teaches the young adult SS class and works with the Senior Adults.  He is also a filmmaker and serves as the Sr Director of Make It Clear Studio where he produces faith based films with powerful messages.  His favorite scripture verse is Hebrews 12:2.  He and his wife, Amy, consider it an honor and a privilege to serve the Lord together.  Welcome back Doug.

Mrs. Amy Stroup

We are blessed to have Doug's wife, Amy, join us this year as the pianist for the week.  Amy is no stranger to Shingleroof as she has been here many times in the past accompanying Doug as a soloist and singing with The Stroup Family.  Amy trusted Christ as her Savior at the young age of 5 and went on to graduate from Florida Bible College in 1989.  She married Doug in 1988 and has been a huge support to him as his pianist ever since.  She serves as the pianist at Crossroad Bible Church in Fort Valley, Ga where her husband, Doug, is the Assistant Pastor.  Amy considers it a huge honor to fill the shoes of Melissa who has been playing the piano at Shingleroof for many years.

Mr. Mark Miller

Our worship leader for Sunday morning will be Mark Miller.  Many of you may remember Mark from 2015 when he served as our song leader.  Mark was born in Nashville, TN and grew up four miles from Shingleroof and attended campmeeting as a youth.  His parents were both musicians, and his dad and brother taught him how to play the guitar.  He studied music and theology at Clayton State University and Emory University.  Mark has served churches in Georgia and Florida, including The Church of the Apostles in Atlanta, where he served as the Director of Music for 12 years, and the Coral Ridge Ministries in Ft. Lauderdale.
